World record of human chain set at Hoshangabad

Hoshangabad: In the series of ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra, the biggest campaign of the country being started to make the environment pollution free and to conserve environment, the citizens of Hoshangabad district set the world record of human chain. More than 25000 people forming 125 kilometer long human chain at Narmada river ghats and at 78 places supported the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’- Seva Yatra.
The yatra started from Amarkantak on December 11 will enter village Umardha of Hoshangabad district on January 10. Before the yatra, human chain was formed on Monday at 78 places of Hoshangabad for preparations and to support the yatra. This chain was formed at Sethani ghat beside other ghats of Narmada river wherein social activists, businessmen, students voluntary organizations and public representatives took part with enthusiasm. This human chain is the biggest ever chain formed for the conservation of river which has included as the world record in the golden book of world record.
Pledge was administered by the participants of human chain to spread awareness among the people to make Narmada river pollution free and to undertake plantation at the banks of Narmada River. Everyone on the occasion signed in this regard and repeated the pledge. Human chain was formed in the presence of Member of Parliament Uday Pratap Singh, MLA Vijaypal Singh, President Nagar Palika Akhilesh Khandelwal and Collector Avinash Lavaniya at Sethani Ghat. Moreover, human chain was formed at Vivekanand ghat in the presence of Chairman Madhya Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation and Vice President of ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra Shiv Choubey. The Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi will accord reception to the yatra on January 10 at village Umardha of Hoshangabad district. Minister of State and District In charge Suryaprakash Meena and other Public Representatives will present on the occasion.-WTN
