Culture besides Chivalry, Bravery and Education is also must: Governor Smt. Patel

Bhopal: Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel today performed bhoomi-pujan of SAMS-JIO (Jain International Organisation) University in Aurobindo Institute of Medical Science Premises at Indore. Apart from Medical Science, Law and Commerce will also be taught in this university. On this occasion Governor Smt. Patel said that education is developing fast in our country. Now we have to prepare culture new generation. In this work, educational institutions play an important role.

Smt. Patel said that the government’s objective is to provide educational opportunities to every person. The basic need of every human being is food, clothing, shelter, education and health. New colleges and universities are opening in the state every year. There should be no ragging in any university in fact such a tradition should be started with which old students extend a warm welcome to the new students in any educational institution. She said that ragging is the outcome of bad upbringing.

Employment-oriented education must in present era

Smt. Patel said that the meaning of education has changed in the present era. “Sa Vidya ya Vimuktaye”means real education is that which provides us salvation. Today special focus is being laid on vocational education. The educational institution that gives maximum placement is considered the best. It is important to provide practical knowledge and intensive training in industrial companies besides bookish knowledge. He said that the government should make efforts to provide higher education to women in the village also. Educational institutions, social workers and businessmen should adopt one village each and set an example. The Governor said that the villages have been centres of Indian civilisation and culture. The country’s development is possible only the development of villages. The government also believes in ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’.

Special stress on women empowerment by Centre and State government

Smt. Patel said that the state government and the Centre is laying emphasis on women empowerment. The Centre and the state government want that women should be educated, establish their own enterprises and come forward in the field of jobs. They should become financially independent. The Centre and the state government have introduced schemes for women like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Saubhagya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matra Vandana Yojana which has started showing revolutionary changes in the lives of women. These schemes will bring far-reaching results. He called upon the student community to make creative use of their energy and contribute in maintaining peace and harmony in the society.

Smt. Patel said that professors of various universities of Madhya Pradesh have adopted 2 thousand 200 children suffering from Tuberculosis. They are helping in providing nutritious meals and timely medicines. The government aims to free India of Tuberculosis by Year 2022. There is improvement in male-female ratio at the national level. Government has started several schemes for the welfare of women and made provision of reservation at various levels. She called upon the students to focus on research part from traditional education. She told them to invent new vaccines for new diseases. Smt. Patel laid the foundation of Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Transplant, Institute of Cancer and Nuclear Medicine and Institute of International Law.

Jain Muni Padmasagar Ji Maharaj said that it is important to create the sentiments of culture and social service along with education in the students.
