Bhopal: The July 1 of 2018 is going to be a historic day for Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Government will give a major relief to lakhs of registered labourers and BPL category consumers in electricity bills from this day. Low income labourers and BPL consumers will not need to be worried for huge electricity bill. Registered labourers will have to pay only Rs 200 per month. In case of electricity bill is more than this amount, remaining amount will be reimbursed by the state government through subsidy.
As per the intention and initiative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in order to give relief to labourers registered under Mukhyamantri Jan-Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2018 in electricity bills, Saral Bijli Bill Scheme and Mukhyamantri Bakaya Bijli Bill Mafi Scheme is being implemented at large scale. Eighty eight lakh registered labourers will get benefit of Mukhyamantri Bijlee Bill Scheme. Total 77 lakh registered labourers and BPL category consumers will be benefited from Mukhya Mantri Baqaaya Bill Maafi Scheme.
There will be no last date for participating in Saral Bijli Bill Scheme. Process to give benefit to beneficiaries in distribution centres will continue. Bill amount will be calculated on the basis of consumption marked in metres where they are installed. Bill amount will be calculated on the basis of tariff set by electricity regulatory commission, on un-metered connections in rural areas. Consumers will have to pay only Rs 200 per month, subsidy of remaining amount will be given by the Government. Eligible families will be given facility of free electricity connection without charging for connection. The state government will provide Rs. one thousand crore as annual subsidy. Benefit under the scheme will be given to a beneficiary being a consumer too. There will be eligibility for taking benefit for members of consumer family and members residing along with it. Family member who is registered in Samgra database will be considered for this. Facility for name transfer will be available on stamp of Rs. 500 on consumer's demand. Consumers with over one thousand watt consumption, having air conditioner, heater won't get benefit under the scheme. The facility will be given only for bulb, fan and TV under the scheme in rural and urban areas. Four bulbs, two fans, one TV and one cooler will be run in one thousand watt.
How to apply
Beneficiary will have to apply in the prescribed form to center or zone of power distribution company or in camp to be held for it. Only labourer registration number will have to be given in application. No charge will be taken for inclusion under the scheme. There will be mention of payment of Rs. 200 maximum in eligible beneficiary's electricity bill of July, payable in August after scrutiny in the application. Amount to be paid by consumer and subsidy of the government will be mentioned in the bill.
Mukhya Mantri Baqaaya Bill Maafi Scheme
The process to provide relief to registered labourers and BPL consumers will continue at distribution centres under Mukhya Mantri Baqaaya Bill Maafi Scheme introducing from July 1. Total outstanding amount till June 2018 will be waived off. It includes outstanding amount and surcharge. Subsidy of Rs 1806 crore will be given under the scheme by the state government. Total 77 lakh registered labourers and BPL consumers will get benefitted under the scheme. The benefit will be given to consumer for being a relative or living with registered labourer. The person will be considered as family member whose name is mentioned in Samgra database. The benefit will be provided in cases under court consideration, and filed under section 126, 135 and 138 of the Electricity Act. Consumers who got benefit under previous Samadhan scheme will also take benefit under the scheme.
Application procedure
The beneficiary will have to apply in the prescribed form in the distribution center or zone or in camps. Camps will be held by electricity companies in July. The consumer will have to give only the labourer registration number or BPL card number. After scrutiny of application, the beneficiaries will be given a certificate of bill waiver.-Window To News
