Union Minister Ananth Kumar to attend foundation laying programme
Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lay foundation of Bina Irrigation Project costing about Rs.4 thousand crore at Khurai of Sagar district on July 2. The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar will be the Chief Guest of the foundation laying programme. The Minister for Water Resources Dr. Narottam Mishra, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava and Minister for Home Bhupendra Singh will also grace the occasion as the special guests.
Bina Irrigation Project will facilitate irrigation on over 90 thousand hectare land of 4033 villages of Bundelkhand region. Under the project, dams will be constructed on Bina River at Madiya and Chakarpur. Moreover, this project will resolve potable water problem of 331 villages of the region. The project will prove beneficial for three crops arrangement in Bundelkhand region. The Project will facilitate irrigation in the entire command area in the next 4 years. A total of 48 hectare land has been allocated in village Bairkhedi for rehabilitation of 1324 families, which will be affected by the construction of this project.-Window To News
