Electricity reaches over 17 lakh houses under Soubhagya Yojana

Target to link 20 districts with 100 percent electricity achieved
Bhopal: A total of 17 lakh 03 thousand 869 houses, which were deprived of power, have been illuminated by providing electricity connections in Madhya Pradesh. There is a target for electrification in other remaining houses till the month of October under the scheme. At the dynamic initiative of the Union and State Government, electricity connections are being provided to all those houses, which were in the dark since many years. The ‘Soubhagya’ scheme being implemented to facilitate electricity at each house has started yielding fruitful result. Houses are being illuminated by providing electricity connections easily and conveniently by all the 3 power distribution companies of the state.
Houses in 20 districts of the state namely Mandsaur, Neemuch, Indore, Agar-Malwa, Dewas, Khandwa, Ujjain, Ratlam, Ashoknagar, Harda, Shajapur, Sehore, Bhopal, Dhar, Seoni, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Jhabua and Hoshangabad have been electrified by achieving 100 percent target. The 6 districts of the state are in the process to achieve 100 percent electrification target in the next few days. Among these Khargone with 98 percent, Gwalior and Jabalpur with 96 percent each, Badwani, Datia and Burhanpur with 95 percent target are leading.
All the 3 power distribution companies besides their regional, local engineers and workers are working actively to implement the scheme. Benefit of the scheme is reaching to all non-electrified houses. The Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has linked 6 lakh 15 thousand 937 houses with electricity till now against the target. Similarly, the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has electrified 6 lakh 92 thousand 95 houses, whereas the Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has provided electricity connections to 3 lakh 95 thousand 837 houses.-Window To News
