CM participates in Namami Devi Narmade - Seva Yatra in Sangakhera Khurd
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that water treatment plants will be installed for treatment of sewage water. Rs 1500 crore have been sanctioned for this. He said that contests will be held between Bhajan Mandali in 16 districts situated on the bank of Narmada. He said that the state cannot survive without the mother Narmada that's why all will have to take efforts for its protection. Chouhan was addressing Seva Yatra in Sangakhera Khurd of Hoshangabad district.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the mother Narmada is lifeline. The state cannot survive without it. There is farming and life with its existence. Narmada is cradle of childhood, garden for young age and Kashi (holy place) for old age. Mentioning Namami Devi Narmade - Seva Yatra, the chief minister said that this amazing campaign is underway on the land of Madhya Pradesh which is for environment conservation and making mother Narmada pollution-free. The Yatra is the biggest movement in the world for water conservation and protection. The Chief Minister said that Narmada is 'pap nashini'. Its 'darshan' only destroys man's sins. The Chief Minister said that where people seek drinking water from me, I urge the mother and she reached there. The river is providing water for irrigation and electricity as well. The Chief Minister said that the submerged area would not have plantation. He said that fruit routes would be developed like milk routes. Sewage water to be drained in the river would be treated in treatment plant and provided to farmers for irrigation. He said that Rs 1500 crore have been sanctioned for this task. The Chief Minister said that toilets would be constructed in villages near the bank of the river.
Chief Minister Chouhan participated in the Yatra with his wife. He took the flag and Sadhna Singh was carrying 'kalash'. On the occasion, they performed kanyapujan and offered flowers at Mother Narmada's portrait.
Contest in Bhajan Mandali on Narmada Jayanti
Chief Minister Chouhan said that contest will be held among Bhajan mandali in 16 districts situated on the banks of the Narmada on February 3 on Narmada Jayanti. The first winner will get Rs one lakh; Rs 50,000 to the runner-up and Rs 25,000 to third winner. Chouhan said that the competition will be held In Bhajan Mandali of 16 districts. The winner of this competition will receive award of Rs two lakh. The Chief Minister said that drawing, Bhajan, Narmada path, rangoli, painting competitions will be organised in all schools on Narmada Jayanti. Informing about Anandam programme to be held on January 14, the Chief Minister said that any person who have extra cloths, utensils, bed-sheet, books and other material will put them at a place and others who have need of them will take them.
Sadhvi Pragya Bharati, Gurudwara Management Committee, Bhopal President Gyani Dilip Singh also addressed the programme. Forests minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar, minister of state for food processing and forests Suryaprakash Meena, MP Uday pratap Singh, chairman of MP Mineral Development Corporation Shiv Chobey, chairman of MP Ware Housing Corporation Rajendra Singh, former MLA Kamal Patel and Sadhvi Yogmaya Tirth, Sant Balakdas, public representatives and villagers were present in the programme.
