Action will be taken against district transport officers if they will not consider Aadhaar card as ID proof
JULY 16 (WTN) - If you are going to create a driving license, then the Aadhaar card will be validated as an ID proof. Regarding this, the Madhya Pradesh government has issued instructions to the transport commissioner. Not only this, now if any district transport officer will not accept Aadhaar as ID proof then action will be taken against the officer.
For your information, let you know that the central transport ministry has approved the Aadhaar card as the ID proof by amending the central motor vehicle act. It was published on March 20, 2018 in the official Gazette. But it is alleged that the district transport officers in the Madhya Pradesh were not considering Aadhaar card as ID proof.
According to information received from the media, after complaints regarding the Aadhar card not being considered as ID proof, the state government asked the transport commissioner to follow the Gazette of the central government. It is believed that orders will be reached to all district transport officers within ten days.
