Chief Minister participates in Madhya Pradesh Vikas Samvad programme
Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government has clear vision for development in Madhya Pradesh. He mentioned that conception of development is not merely limited to roads, bridge-culverts and other construction. The state government has target to make people’s life happy and to facilitate every house with the light of development. Chouhan further stated that everyone has equal rights over water, forest, land, rivers and mountains. Chief Minister was addressing the Madhya Pradesh Vikas Samvad Seminar organized by the Hindustan Samchaar at Samanvay Bhavan today. Member of Parliament Prabhat Jha, Vice President of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Raghvendra Gautam and President of Asangathit Karmkaar Mandal Sultan Singh Shekhawat were present in the programme.
CM Chouhan mentioned that continuity of state’s development journey is the main work of the state government. He said that the state has been transformed into a developed state by taking out from the category of sick state. Now efforts are being continued to make it a prosperous state. He stated that efforts are underway to provide essential basic facilities, to give equal opportunities of development and making resources available to all. Chouhan emphasis is being laid to enhance employment opportunities and to establish value addition of agricultural produce.
Mentioning about the state which was inherited to him in poor and devastated condition, Chouhan said that the scenario of the state has changed owing to the development journey undertaken by the state government. State has wonderful roads now. The electricity production has grown to 18 thousand 364 M.W. from 2900 M.W. The irrigation sector has become up to 40 lakh from 7 lakh hectare and the road map is ready to increase it further to 80 lakh hectare.
The average 20 percent growth rate in agriculture is maintained from the last 5 years, which has proved fruitful to double the production. Chouhan further stated that Madhya Pradesh is also leading in execution of flagship schemes of the Union Government.
Indore and Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh have retained the first two positions since the last 2 years in sanitation. As many as 17 lakh houses are being constructed in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Speedy work is being carried out in the field of investment and tourism. Efforts are being made to export state’s soybean to China. Referring to the criticism for mentioning roads of Madhya Pradesh better than America during his visit to United States, he said that he is proud of his country and state. For us our India is better than the whole world. Moreover, Chouhan said that the concept of world’s welfare, harmony among living beings, desire for happiness and wellbeing of all and to consider the world as family has been given by India.
Informing about the schemes, Chouhan mentioned that efforts to provide Sambal (Support) to poor of the state are being made through Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana. Residential plot and pucca house, free education, ex-gratia amount of Rs. 2 to 4 lakh in case of death below 60 years of age, Rs. Five thousand to perform last funeral rites and economic assistance of Rs. 4 and 12 thousand is being given on child birth to every poor. A major portion of resources is being utilized for the welfare of poor.
