Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari performed bhoomi poojan and dedicated development works costing Rs. 5 thousand 130 crore at Vikas Parva evam Kisaan Maha-Sammelan held at Guna today. CM Chouhan transferred an amount of Rs. 43 crore 90 lakh online in the banks accounts of farmers under the Crop Insurance Scheme and distributed benefits to 43 thousand 882 beneficiaries of various schemes.
CM Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has become one of the leading states of the country, emerging out of the sick state category now with the cooperation of the Union Government. An amount of Rs. 13 thousand 500 crore was provided by the Centre to the state for construction of roads, which helped better construction of roads in the state. Elaborating on Mukhya Mantri Jan-Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana, Chouhan mentioned that all the possible efforts are being made in the state according to the commitment of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make agriculture a profitable occupation and to double the agriculture production.
The Union Minister Gadkari stated that construction work of Chambal Express Way in Gwalior region will be started soon this year. Work to acquire land has been started in this connection. People of this region will get employment opportunities, business and industries will flourish and a new route will be available for transport after the construction of this Express Way. He informed that a new highway is being constructed between Delhi and Mumbai. An amount of Rs. One lakh crore will be spent on construction. The highway will pass through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra state. This highway includes 250 k.m. long road of Madhya Pradesh and will help development of the state. Moreover Gadkari has informed that water sharing in connection to the Ken-Betwa Link River Project will be solved soon. Furthermore, he informed that construction work of 100 new national highways is being started in the country.
CM Chouhan and the Union Minister Gadkari were presented with items manufactured by the women of self-help groups of NRLM. Labourers of the unorganized sector presented a letter of gratitude for implementing Sambal Yojana. The Guna Bar Association expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister to implement Advocate Protection Act in the state.
