Completion of cent percent target in PM Housing (Urban) scheme by December 31

Bhopal: Approval has been granted to 5,57,707 houses against the target of 5.57 lakh houses allotted to the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas (Shahari) Yojana to be constructed at a cost of 32.307 crore. Construction of 4 lakh houses has begun in all 378 urban bodies and construction work of 92 thousand houses has been completed till June 30, 2018. The target has been set to complete the construction work of cent percent houses by coming December 31.
Urban Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh told that the work of providing pucca houses to the beneficiaries with kuchha houses and homeless families residing in urban bodies under the “Housing for all” concept is on in full swing. Pucca houses are being made available to the beneficiaries in four categories. Pucca houses are being made available on concessional rates to financially weak income group (annual income of Rs 3 lakh), low income group (annual income between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 6 lakh), middle income group-1 (annual income between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 12 lakh) and middle income group-2 (annual income between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 18 lakh). She said that the centre’s share in the total expense of Rs 32 thousand 307 crore is Rs 7 thousand 353 crore. The state government is spending Rs 5 thousand 672 crore on this.
As many as 2 thousand 172 houses are being constructed on Public -Private Partnership (PPP) mode in Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur under the scheme. With this, Rs 2 lakh 8 thousand 263 houses have been granted approval in 42 cities. Out of these, construction of one lakh 20 thousand 909 houses is in progress. In the category of houses being constructed by the beneficiaries themselves, 3 lakh 47 thousand 272 houses have been granted approval. Work on 2.80 lakh houses out of these is in progress. Construction of 92 thousand pucca houses has been completed and their possession has also been given to the beneficiaries.-Window To News
