Bhopal: Major companies of world show interest for participation in project
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took stock of Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project work. He instructed to speed up the work. The project is the biggest solar energy project of the world. It would generate 750 MW electricity. Major national and international companies have showed keen interest for participation in the project.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that work on the project should be accelerated. He took detail of different phases of the project. It was informed that the project has been divided in three units each of 250 MW. Work for power grid station is underway. This is the country's first project on which loan has been sanctioned under clean technology fund. Power for Delhi Metro would be supplied from this project.
Putting detail of the project, principal Secretary, New and Renewable Energy, Manu vastava said that the project will provide various benefits to the state. They includes cheaper solar energy, fulfillment of RPO of power distribution companies, investment of Rs 5000 crore in the project, payment of Rs 54 crore to land owners for private land. Rs 15 crore will be received from developers as local area development. The state will get Rs 7.5 crore as registration fee from developers and Rs 32 crore for revenue land use. Total 13500 labourers would get job in project during construction period and 750 labourers would get employment after commissioning of the project.
Energy Minister Paras Jain, Industries Minister Rajendra Shukla, Chief Secretary BP Singh, Additional Chief Secretary AP vastava, Principal Secretary Industries Mohammed Suleman and other officials were present in the meeting.
