Bhopal : There is atmosphere of celebrations in villages situated on the banks of the river Narmada nowadays. People are brimming with happiness while waiting for their turn to welcome Narmada Seva Yatra and installing gates for welcome. Colourful rangoli are being made outside houses. Region is echoing with Bhajans of mother Narmada. Devotees are expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and talking of his devotion towards the river.
Narmada Seva Yatra today reached in villages of Sohagpur assembly constituency on the 36th day. The yatra reached Hoshangabad via Gora, Chandala and Bandrabhan. Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Seetasaran Sharma took holy Narmada Kalash after performing poojan of girls as symbol of power.
Ram Singh of Chandla villge of gram Panchayat Kadaiya is enthusiastic for the Yatra. He says, everybody is ready for the Narmada. That's why everyone from each house is participating in it. Villagers are keen to perform puja of holy kalash of Narmada water and express their feelings.
Owner of 50 acre farm land, Dinesh Goswami said that he would plant teak and gooseberry trees after motivation by the Chief Minister. He said that villages are becoming aware thanks to efforts of the Chief Minister. Resolution for protection of Narmada river is being made. Former Sarpanch of Kadaiya gram panchayat Rajhans Singh Mehra said that our entire gram panchayat has got energy for protection of the river. Women and children are now aware of it. The Chief Minister has done what is needed for our village and entire society.
Priyanka Malviya is Sarpanch of Jalon Gram Panchayat. She arrived Chandla village for performing pooja of Narmada kalash, covering 50 km distance with villagers. She says ten persons from her gram panchayat participate in the Yatra every day. She believes Narmada provides food grains, life. For this, the campaign should continue.
