Campaign against violators of traffic rules in rural areas also
Bhopal: Legal action will be taken against those who drive tractors without license in the state. Districts with records of maximum vehicle accidents caused by negligence of tractor drivers will be marked and strict legal action will be taken against such drivers who do not have licenses. This decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary B.P. Singh last month. In a meeting held as per given instructions of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, a discussion was held on preparing a work plan over deaths due to increasing road accidents in state.
Decision was taken to launch campaign against violators of traffic rules in rural areas also and take strict action against them. There is a noticeable rise in the number of road accidents and resultant deaths in rural areas as compared to urban areas. Necessary action should be taken for check on entry of stray cattle on National Highways, State Highways and other roads in the rainy season.
Decision has been taken to initiate stern action against rash and negligent drivers and those who drive on the wrong side. Drivers also engage in overloading by allowing passengers to travel in goods vehicles. These are major causes for road accidents and deaths. Instructions have been given to launch campaign and take stern action such drivers.
In Rajgarh district, vehicles damaged in road accidents have been displayed on the roadsides through which the drivers on roads are given information on the importance of road safety. Similar action can be taken in other districts also on the lines of Rajgarh. Road accidents can be minimized through demonstration effect by implementation of other innovative-based projects related to road safety.-Window To News
