Power court cases of labourers, karmakars will be disposed in special lok adalats

Bhopal: The state government has taken the decision to withdraw the prosecution in the court cases related to domestic electricity registered against the workers registered on the Sambal Yojana and Madhya Pradesh Bhavan evam Anya Sannirman Karmakar Kalyan Mandal portal till June 2018. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given permission to organize special lok adalats for the disposal of these cases on the request of the state government.
Giving this information Principal Secretary Energy I.C.P Keshari said that about 20 thousand cases of Section 135 and 138 of Power Act-2003 against labourers and karmakars are in special courts at present. After the permission of the High Court, special lok adalats will be held to settle these cases.
It may be noted that the state government has waived the entire amount of electricity bill of registered labourers and karmakars on domestic connection pending till June 2018. This action was taken unde the Chief Minister’s Pending Power Bill Waiver Scheme-2018. In addition, these beneficiaries have been given the facility of maximum Rs 200 per month of electricity bill on domestic connection from the July 2018 bill. Under this facility, the remaining amount of electricity bill of these beneficiaries will be borne by the state government.-Window To News
