Vigyan Mitra Club in over 30,000 Government Middle Schools in state

Club to Work Specially for Environment Protection
Bhopal : School Education Department has decided to constitute Vigyan Mitra Club in 30,341 Government Middle Schools with the aims to develop scientific approach in students and aware them of environment protection. Directives have been issued in this regard to teachers of the schools.
It has been said in the directives that club should be formed by selecting students of 6, 7, and 8 classes in government school. Maximum 50 students will be included in a club. After formation of the club, one group leader will be appointed who will work as organizing coordinator. Remaining students will be called cooperative environment friends. A representative of 'Bal Cabinet' will be included in the club. A teacher will be nominated in the club as guide. Schools have been told to name their club after any Indian scientist, inventor or famous place.
Activities of the club will be focused on water status, pollution, water conservation, bio-diversity, energy conservation, waste and its management, natural disasters and measures to tackle them, pollution due to use of chemicals and scientific facts. Vigyan Mitra Club will hold quiz, symposium, drawing, essay writing and science games competitions. The club will visit zoo, museums and natural places time to time with members. The club will hold rally to remove superstition and social evils. Also, the club will work to discourage use of plastic in its nearby areas. Necessary fund will be provided to club for its formation. -WTN
