Minister Narottam Mishra meets Uma Bharti at New Delhi

Bhopal: Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Narottam Mishra met Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti at New Delhi on Wednesday.
Dr Mishra discussed in detail about the ongoing Prime Minister Agriculture Irrigation scheme in the state with minister Bharti. He urged the Union Minister to release the amount for the pending irrigation projects under the PMKSY at the earliest. Union Minister Bharti informed that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the country for irrigation through pipes. Moreover the state ranks at second position in the country for implementing irrigation schemes. She gave assurance towards release for payment soon for the pending irrigation schemes.
Dr Mishra informed that work related to 209 SME scheme has been completed in the state. Similarly, restoration works of 82 water bodies have been completed. Dr Mishra also discussed about other projects under the Ken-Betwa Scheme. Principal Secretary Water Resources Pramod Agarwal and Resident Commissioner Ashish Shrivastava were present on the occasion.-WTN
