EPCO’s Green Ganesh Campaign-2018 commences
Bhopal: Whatever you give to nature, nature will give back to you. POP contains heavy metal and many harmful substances, which are the cause of deadly diseases like cancer. Executive Director, EPCO Jitendra Singh Raje said this while inaugurating 'Green Ganesh Campaign -2018' -a training programme for sculpting clay Ganeshas at EPCO premises today. Organisers, sculptors, teachers, school and college students and citizens took part in the workshop.
Raje appealed to the participants to inspire their neighbours and general public to install clay Ganesha idols during Ganesh Utsav and immerse the statues at home. POP and chemical colours dissolve in water and pose risk to the lives of aquatic system. EPCO will impart training for sculpting clay Ganesha idols to teachers of Bhopal’s Eco-Club to take the Green Ganesha programme to a greater level.
A presentation was given at the workshop to provide information regarding the ill-effects of immersing Ganesh idols on the environment, preparation for sculpting clay idols etc. The participants were given information about the seed ball concept while sculpting clay Ganeshas. In this, a new sapling will grow from the seed present inside the idol and enhance greenery.
More than 150 persons learnt to make Ganeshas from clay at the workshop and even took their creations home. People will be able to learn to make clay Ganesh idols at the EPCO training programme and also take them home.-Window To News
