Bhopal: Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh has instructed that works of aspirational districts selected under important programmes of the Government of India should be undertaken in other districts as well. Two districts of Indore division, Khandwa and Badwani have been included in aspirational districts. Integrated efforts are being made to achieve various indicators related to human and community development and welfare in these districts. Various innovations are being planned at the local level to achieve the indicators fixed for the districts.
Chief Secretary Singh today reviewed the progress of the works being undertaken in these districts in Indore. It was informed at the meeting that various works are being undertaken under the guidance of NITI Aayog. As many as 115 districts of 28 states of the country have been chosen as aspirational districts. These include 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh out of which two districts are from Indore division.
Coordinated efforts are being made to achieve indicators of improvement in health and nutrition level, expansion of education, development of agriculture, water resources and basic infrastructure, financial inclusion and skill upgradation in these districts. Works being undertaken by NITI Aayog are being reviewed every month and rankings are also being fixed.
Chief Secretary Singh instructed that all possible efforts should be made to achieve the fixed indicators. All selected districts should make detailed plans of their districts and implement them. Help should be taken from the representatives of the NITI Aayog Knowledge Partners Bill and the Melinda Gates Foundation. He also instructed all the divisional officers that they would make frequent visits to the selected districts and help complete the indicators.
Additional Chief Secretary, Forest K.K. Singh gave information of the works being undertaken in the selected districts. Divisional Commissioner Raghavendra Singh, Principal Secretary Public Service Management Hariranjan Rao, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Akash Tripathi, Commissioner Commercial Taxes Pavan Sharma, Labour Commissioner Rajesh Bahuguna, Ajit Kumar, Collectors, Upper Collectors of all districts and Chief Executive Officers of all district panchayats were present during the meeting.-Window To News
