Bhopal: Masses thronged for welcoming Yatra from Gwari to Pathada in Hoshangabad district
Plantation carried out place to place
Namami Devi Narmade - Seva Yatra resumed for village Gwari of Seoni Malva after night stay at Aavli ghat on the 40th day. Huge public welcomed the Yatra at its arrival at Gwari Ghat. Villagers welcomed it by showering flowers on the way. Pooja of Kalash and dhwaj of yatra was performed as per ritual at Gwalior Ghat.
The Yatra reached at Soyat from Gwari where queued-up villagers welcomed Kalash and Dhwaj. Rajendra Mandloi took the Kalash at village Khapariya and participated in the Yatra. The yatra was taken out on 2 km distance in Khapariya and was welcomed at many places. Flowers were showered from roofs. It was also welcomed at Singh Wahini Durga temple. The yatra further reached at village Rehda where Yatris were welcomed at Rajdevi temple. All chanted 'jay' of mother Narmada and explained the glory of mother Narmada. School children took out kalash yatra there.
Villagers took resolution for environment and river protection at the village Makdai. Pujan of kalash and dhwaj was performed as per the tradition. The yatra was welcomed in Bhela village also.
In Chaturmukh village, Saints planted 200 saplings. Huge crowd thronged for 'darshan' of the Yatra. Women recited folk songs on mother Narmada and school children took out kalash yatra. Public representatives performed puja of kalash and dhwaj. Santosh Parikh said that the river should be made pollution-free. He said that plantation will be made both the side of the river. Here, oath was administered to villagers to maintain cleanliness in Narmada river and make it pollution-free.
Saplings were planted in village Ghodhra. DC Saiyyad Rizvi of Jan Abhiyan Parishad informed that the Yatra is the biggest in the world for making river pollution-free and river conservation. It will cover 1100 villages of 16 districts and distance of 3350 km. He said that the yatra will cover distance of both the sides north and south banks of the river. He said that Narmada is a potential river and its potential should be used fully. Also, each person should plant a sapling in his house.
On its way, the Yatra was welcomed in Bhangiya village. In Village pathada, village people welcomed it with enthusiasm. Sadhvi Pragya Bharti said that once Narmada was so clean that Adi Guru Shankaracharya written 'Narmadaasthak'. But now the river is getting polluted day-by-day. She appealed people not to pollute it because it provides drinking water to thousands of people. President of Hoshangabad Municipality Akhilesh Khandelwal, Chairman of Cooperatives Bank Bharat Singh Rajput and people in big number were present there.
