Chief Minister Shri Chouhan issues instructions to execute work plan soon
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued instructions to execute work plan made for renovation of Omkareshar temple premises and development of the city. Renovation and development work will soon start for Chandramauleshwar temple of Omkareshwar, Indreshwar temple, Gau-ghat, Aadi Shankaracharya's cave, Diksha place, Vishnu temple and Mamleshwar temple.
Development of the temple premises will be carried out under the Central government's scheme 'Prasad' for renovation of pilgrimages and spiritual expansion. Nineteen works plans have been made for development of Omkareshwar.
Chief Minister instructed to take immediate action and contact with union ministry of tourism during presentation of the proposed work plan on development today. The Chief Minister also instructed to carry out renovation work without affecting the original architecture of Omkareshwar Jyotirlingam temple. He said that Aadi Shankaracharya's cave should be renovated, demonstrating his life and philosophy.
Development of Gau-ghat, sound and light show, development of JP Chowk, Tourist Reception Centre, heritage walk, establishment of museum and interpretation centre, development of Parikrama path, wi-fi facility are part of the proposed works. Sky-walk has been proposed between Gau-ghat, Brahma temple and Mamleshwar.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashok Varnawal, Principal Secretary Culture Manoj vastava, Public Relations and Archaeology Commissioner Anupam Rajan, Secretary to C.M. Hariranjan Rao and senior officers were present in the meeting.
