Rs 8.5 crore approved for Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan’s new building
Bhopal: To teach children of the state in Sanskrit language, the Department of School Education is running 5 Adarsh Sanskrit Schools in Sironj, Datia, Ujjain, Burhanpur and Barhi in Katni district through Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan. Modern system is being used to educate children in these schools where conventional method of teaching is being followed. Sanskrit and its literature has been included in all these schools and connected to Swarozgar course.
Rs 5 crore has been approved to prepare 58 Sanskrit text-books for the new course created for Class I to XII in Vidya Parishad of Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan. Computers have been provided to 36 Sanskrit schools affiliated to the Sansthan. A diploma course in Practical Astrology has been started in the form of a professional course by the Sansthan.
New building of Sansthan
A four-storeyed fully-equipped new building is being constructed by the Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan in Bhopal. For this Rs 8 crore 50 lakh has been approved. A 200-seater auditorium facility will also be made available in the building.
Ujjain’s Jiwaji Observatory
The Jiwaji Observatory is being run by Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan in Ujjain. This observatory is considered one among the oldest observatories of the country. Savai Raja Jaisingh got the observatory constructed in the year 1719. A website www.jiwajiobservatory.org has been developed to make information regarding this ancient observatory to the tourists. The website contains information on ancient and meteorological instruments, Panchang, books, photo gallery and activities of the observatory. The state Meteorological centre, Nagpur has installed an electronic barometer in the observatory. Work of digitilisation of ancient books in the observatory has been completed. Nearly 1.5 lakh pages of these books have been scanned to keep the ancient heritage safe.-Window To News
