Workshop on Parenting held
Bhopal: The Minister for Women and Child Development Archana Chitnis while addressing a workshop held at Vatsalya Bhavan yesterday said that child’s welfare has been considered as paramount in family and the society, but the new generation lacks information on parenting.
This has been affecting the nurturing of children. The State Government will introduce a course to facilitate correct knowledge on parenting skills and nurturing. This course will be meant for students, parents, families as well as social groups and other organisations. She has invited suggestions from the common man in this connection. Interested persons can send their suggestions on parenting skills and nurturing on www.mpwcdmis.gov.in
Discussions on parenting and role of schools as well as teachers took place at length during the workshop. While describing the time spent with children and exchange of views as the most important factor of parenting, the subject experts said that it is essential that a family should dine, travel and perform prayer together for a balanced, positive and healthy development of children. A plan has been chalked out to accept parenting in the form of a skill and to acquaint the present generation with this skill, a training module will be developed with the help of experts. The next workshop on this subject will be conducted on October 01.

Kansotiya, Commissioner Women and Child Development Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava, Psychologists, Sociologists, Nutrition Experts, Officers of the School Education, Higher Education and Women and Child Development Department as well as representatives of the voluntary organizations also expressed their views on the occasion.-Window To News
