Separate toilets being built for boys and girls
Bhopal: A ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ fortnight is being observed from September 15 in the state during which special focus is being paid to cleanliness of government schools. The sanitation workers employed in government schools of the state will be felicitated on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Several programmes based on cleanliness will be organized on this day. Rajya Shiksha Kendra has instructed departmental officials in the districts to include local public representatives along with maximum number of students in these programmes.
The department has issued an amount for regular cleaning of toilets in government schools. In addition instructions have been given to make a cleanliness action plan based on clusters of schools to maintain cleanliness in the school premises. Stress was laid on the organizing activities like speeches, painting competition, Bal Sansad focusing on the importance of cleanliness in schools. For this the officials have been instructed to utilize the assistance from UNICEF and mobilization fund available in the district to undertake the activities.
Clean School Campaign
Arrangement is being made to build separate toilets for girls and boys in every primary, secondary, high and higher secondary school under Clean School Campaign in the state. So far more than 58 thousand toilets have been constructed in the campaign. Construction of 35 thousand toilets in government schools is in progress. The achievements of the state in toilet construction have been lauded by the centre also.-Window To News
