"Hamari Virasat" programme begins

Bhopal : Initiative of Archeology Department to inform school students about precious heritage  

To inform about the heritage of historical and archeological importance, State Archeology Department has launched 'Hamari Virasat' programme. School students will be made aware of archeological important heritage during the programme. Principals of all government, non-government schools of Bhopal have been told to arrange their students' visit to the state museum in Bhopal.

Commissioner, Archeology  Anupam Rajan informed that students will be given free entry in the State Museum to inform them about precious heritage.  Rajan informed that guides in State Museum will inform students about the features of articles displayed there. Total 648 students of Dayanand Anglo -Vaidik School of Beena tehsil of Sagar district visited the museum with their teachers. Students visited 17 galleries of the museum.  Before this, 22 Indian, who arrived from the USA to attend Yoga camp, also visited the museum and saw the ancient articles.
State museum

State museum is situated at Shamla Hills of Bhopal. The multifaceted rich cultural heritage of the state has been displayed there. Category-wise ancient important articles and images of relics have been displayed in 17 galleries in the museum. Pre-historic articles and fossils, excavated objects, idols and epigraphs specially documents related with erstwhile kingdoms, manuscripts, paintings, royal collection, textile, articles associated with freedom struggle, miniature paintings, coins, rare music instruments, arms and weapons have been exhibited there.
