Take action against those committing irregularities in wheat procurement

Bhopal: CM Chouhan reviews food and civil supplies Deptt.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that strict action should be taken against those who are committing irregularities in wheat procurement. Proposal should be brought to form law in this regard. He said that wheat procurement centres should be set up giving due attention to farmers' convenience. The Chief Minister was reviewing today Food and Civil Supplies Department. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Omprakash Dhurve was also present.
The Chief Minister said that wheat procurement centres should be set up considering distance and at the appropriate place. He said that strict action should be taken against those who committed irregularities in wheat procurement. In this regard, proposal should be brought for formation of law. Transparent system should be implemented for procurement and sufficient arrangement should be made for bags. Farmers should not face any inconvenience. Chouhan said that a letter would be written to the Prime Minister to include maize procured on minimum support price in central pool.
Chouhan said that no eligible should be left for fair price ration. State-wide campaign should be launched for eligibility scrutiny. Task for constitution of monitoring committees at district, block and shop levels should be completed speedily. Strict action should be taken against those doing lackluster in redressal of complaints received under Chief Minister Helpline.
In-charge Chief Secretary A.P. vastava, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Ashok Varnwal, Principal Secretary Food and Civil Supplies KC Gupta, Commissioner Food Faiz Ahmad Kidwai and other officers were present in the meeting.
