Madhya Pradesh Day Celebrated at India International Trade Fair 2018
Bhopal: The performances of Maihar Band and Matki Dance during Madhya Pradesh Day in India International Trade Fair 2018 organised at Pragati Maidan here today has mesmerized the audiences. It may be noted that Maihar Band was established in Year 1918 by Ustad Allauddin Khan on inspiration of the then king of Maihar, Brijnath Singh Judaiv. The Band has now completed 100 years. Ustad Allauddin used traditional as well as rare musical instruments like Naltarang. The Band also uses instruments like Sitar, Israj, Sarod, Violin, Cello, Sitarbanjo, Tabla and Harmonium. The other presentation was of Matki dance of Malwa. It was performed by a group of women in Malwi getup on the beats of drum and traditional song with perfect footwork.
Earlier the MP Day Celebration was inaugurated by Secretary General, Lok Sabha Snehlata Shrivastava by lighting Lamps at MP Pavilion. Principal Secretary MSME Pankaj Agrawal was also present during the occasion. The Chief Guest appreciated art work of artisans at the Pavilion.
This year's pavilion was based on theme 'Madhya Pradesh: The heartland of Rural Enterprises'. The Pavilion of this year prominently displays how rural enterprise is helping to improve the quality of life of rural poor especially women.
The Chief Guest also distributed awards to the MSME entrepreneurs for their excellent work and encouraged them.-Window To News
