Over 2 lakh 61 thousand firearms deposited in police stations

Bhopal: The Chief Electoral Officer V.L. Kanta Rao has informed that since the model code of conduct has come into force, a prohibitory action has been taken against One lakh 76 thousand 549 persons from October 6 to November 23 in order to ensure law and order in the state. A total of 52 thousand 582 non-bailable warrants have been issued during this period. Along with this, 4 thousand 891 illegal firearms have been confiscated and 2 lakh 61 thousand 657 firearms have been deposited in the police stations.
Under the property defacement, total 19 lakh 80 thousand 322 cases have been registered and action has been taken against 19 lakh 24 thousand 413 cases. A total of 14 lakh 57 thousand 760 cases of government property defacement have been registered and action has been taken in 14 lakh 22 thousand 33 cases. Similarly, 5 lakh 22 thousand 562 cases of private property defacement have been registered and action has been taken in 5 lakh 02 thousand 380 cases. Moreover, 14 thousand 20 cases of misuse of vehicles have been registered during this period.-Window To News
