Election Commission releases vigilance guidelines 72 hours prior to voting day

Bhopal: The Election Commission of India has issued guidelines regarding the proceedings to be done 72 hours before polling day. The Commission directed that strict vigilance should be kept to check distribution of any cash, material or any other kind of temptation given to voters. There should be continuous monitoring on inter-state nakas and check posts. Illicit liquor and weapons should be seized and its transport should be checked. Arms-license holders coming to the district from outside should not be given entry without proper documents and NOCs issued by the appropriate District Magistrate. Transportation of commercial vehicles should be closely monitored and examined. The anti-social elements of other states and districts should be monitored and prohibitory action should be ensured on the movement of anti-social elements of the district. Illegal weapons, alcohol, anti-social and harmful elements should be effectively controlled in coordination with border districts and states and all the inter-state borders should be sealed 72 hours before the polling day.-Window To News
