2 thousand 367 candidates give details of election expenses

Bhopal: Out of the 2 thousand 899 candidates contesting Vidhan Sabha Elections in 2018, 2 thousand 367 candidates presented their account details on time. Notices have been issued to 532 candidates for not depositing their account details on time out of whom cases have been registered against 27 candidates under R.P. Act.
It is mandatory for each candidate contesting elections to clarify his poll expenses details under Section 77 of the People's Representation Act, 1951. It is mandatory for the election expenses to be presented to the observer in the prescribed time period for investigation of the expenses made prior to the voting day. If not presented on time notice is issued. If despite giving notice the concerned candidate fails to present the expense details, then a case is registered against him as per Section 171 (h) of Indian Penal Code 1860.-Window To News
