Ten eminent artists awarded in Lokrang
Minister of state for Culture (independent charge) Surendra Patwa said that there is rising atmosphere for arts and artists in Madhya Pradesh. It has been wave of cultural consciousness and arts and culture in the state. The art society of the world and the country are interested to move towards the state. He said that the works done under the leadership of Chief Minister is an example that the prospects of art-culture have given new dimensions. Patwa was addressing national award ceremony on the occasion of inauguration of Lokrang on Thursday.
Minister of State Patwa said that over 300 prestigious programmes are being organised for protection and promotion of culture in a year. Patwa expressed pleasures on that the Prime Minister Narnedra Modi arrived eight times in Madhya Pradesh in last two and half years and the highest four programmes were of culture department. That indicates programmes of culture department got recognition at national level.
National awards presented
Minister of State Patwa presented national awards to artistes and litterateurs for 2012-13 year. Swarn Singh of Baba Aaysingh Riyar College, village Tugalwal, district Gurdaspur, Punjab, was awarded Mahatma Gandhi Samman with Rs ten lakh cash and engraved citation letter. Noted poet of Bengali language Prof Alok Ranjan Das Gupta was given Rashtriya Kabir Samman for excellent creativity, deep literature commitment and long term contribution in poetry. As part of award, he was given Rs three lakh cash and engraved citation, shawl and phal. Renowned writer of Hindi Vishwanath Tripathi was given Rashtriya Maithali Sharan Gupta Samman for six-decades of creativity and activeness, excellent literary contribution and effective presence in contemporary creative field. He was given Rs two lakh cash, citation, shawl and phal. Scholar of different fields of Urdu literature, educationist and efficient administrator Saiyyad Mohammed Ashraf was awarded Rashtriya Iqbal Samman for the best creation, long term contribution, originality in language and active creative presence. Rs two lakh cash, citation and shawl-phal were present to him.
Noted dancer Su Kumkum Mohanti, was given Rashtriya Kalidas Samman (for classical dance) for long term practice in Odissi dance form and the best example in contemporary art field. She was given Rs two lakh cash, citation and shawl and phal. Prof Raghav Kaneria was given Kalidas Samman (for fine arts) for excellent imagination in sculpture arts and creating special recognition in creative field. In the award, Rs two lakh cash, engraved citation, shawl and phal were presented to him.
Four poets awarded with Rashtriya Kavi Pradeep Samman
Established for the excellent examples in the field of stage poetry in the memory of preeminent poet and pride of Madhya Pradesh late Kavi Pradip Samman was given to Balkavi Bairagi (2013-14), Som Thakur (2014-15), Smt. Maya Govind (2015-16) and Surendra Sharma (2016-17). They were given Rs two lakh each and citation. Daughter of poet late Pradip, Su Mitul Pradip was especially present in the ceremony.
Presentation of 'Satrupa' drama held
Based on Udbhav Katha of Bans, dance drama 'Satrupa' was present there. Stage artiste and film actress Su Himani Shivpuri was the narrator of the dance drama.
Tableaux and participants of Republic Day parade awarded
Minister of state Patwa presented awards to selected participants and best tableaux presented in Republic Day parade at Lal Parade Maidan. Tableau of jail department, archeology department and forests department were given first three awards respectively. In the parade, Sainya Dal and Asainya Dal battalion were given first three awards. Sarojani Naidu Girls HS School, Bhopal, Bhavan Bharti Public School and Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Sharda Vihar School, Bhopal were given first, second and third prizes respectively for presentation of cultural programmes. Besides this, special awards were given to sports and youth welfare department for best equestrian demonstration and participants of folkdance 'Karma'.
Minister of state Patwa released 100th edition of 'Chomasa' based on bamboo and souvenir 'Mandapam.' Patwa visited stalls at five-day Lokrang at BHEL Dussehra Maidan.
Principal Secretary Culture Manoj vastava outlined the life and contribution of awardees. Commissioner culture Rajesh Prasad Mishra proposed the vote of thanks. Vinay Upadhyay conducted the programme.
