Aaganwadi’s Workers and Assistants will be freed from Other Works during Aaganwadi timings
Minister Chitnis Holds Video Conferencing
Minister for Women and Child Development Archana Chitnis said that in order to bring improvement in the condition of low weight children, a Special Nutrition Campaign will be started from February in the state. Directives to identify low weight children in the entire state engaging aaganwadi workers upto state level officers in the special campaign were issued. Also instructions to conduct activities by making special action plan for identified children have been issued in the video conferencing. During the video conferencing, 11 supervisors of Sheopur were suspended towards negligence in weight campaign and not to undertake survey of the aaganwadis. Also directives were issued to the Collectors and Commissioners to initiate action at their level for negligence towards departmental responsibilities. Chitnis said that in order to encourage better works under the special nutrition campaign, awards will be given from aaganwadis to state level The wards will be instituted in the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J. N. Kansotiya, Commissioner Integrated Child Development Project Pushpalata Singh were present during the video conferencing.
By fixing responsibilities of aaganwadis workers and assistants pace will be given to the special nutrition campaign with participation of district administration and community. Chitins further mentioned that aaganwadi workers and assistants should not be engaged in any other activities during the time of aaganwadis i.e. till 1.00 p.m. Also meetings should not be hold on mangal diwas and gram swasthaya evam poshan diwas on Tuesday and Friday. Aaganwadi workers and assistants should pay attention completely on children. The assessment work of campaign will start from April 2017 and will be completed by February 2018.
Moreover, directives were issued beside children’s health check up with cooperation of Health department to conduct at least two joint visits of women and child development officers and health department officers in a month. Also efforts will be made to stop shifting of families of extreme low weight children by linking them with livelihood activities conducted by various departments. Furthermore directives to conduct necessary activities with cooperation of CSR and Jila Khanij Nidhi were given in the video conferencing.
Awareness camps will be organised on nutrition literacy for families and communities under the campaign and on Poshan Vatika under the Panchwati Se Poshan. Also poshan smart villages will be developed in each block headquarter with the cooperation of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries departments. Moreover toll free number will be provided for any kind of complaints in functioning of campaign. Important suggestions were given by the District Collectors and Departmental Officers in the video conferencing.
