Gujarat government to operate the yatra after Alirajpur

Bhopal: 'Namami Devi Narmade' Seva Yatra is introducing important 'sanskaras' of the life. Gujarat government will operate the yatra on the bank of the Narmada River after Madhya Pradesh border district Alirajpur. Industries and Mineral Resources Minister Rajendra Shukla said this in Jan-Samvad (public interaction) programme in village Pachola, Kachchberi and Bichhola in Harda district. The yatra was welcoming with kalash and people drumming. Minister Shukla also could not prevent himself from dancing. Shukla also planted sapling at different places. Village people decorated Rangauli. It was ninth day of the yatra in Harda district.
Shukla said that Narmada river provides water for irrigation to farmers. Also, it is source of supplying water for industries and power generation. He said that it is not possible to live without Narmada River in this region. Shukla said that all will have to make efforts to maintain its water clean and holy. He said that our social, economic and cultural activities are based on the Narmada.
World looking towards this campaign
Shukla said that entire world is looking towards this campaign. After success of this campaign, it will be adopted as a model for river conservation in the world. Shukla said that aims of yatra is to ensuring resources for future generations. All should contribute in it. He gave details of announcements made by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Narmada conservation.
The Industries Minister informed that liquor shops in villages situated on the banks of the river won't auctioned. he administered pledge to make every possible efforts for plantation, cleanliness, curbing use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, adopting bio farming, saving girl child and providing them education, de-addiction drive and maintain cleanliness in the Narmada river and motivate others to do the same. Shukla announced names of members of village Narmada Seva Samiti. Former Minister Kamal Patel took detail of objectives of the yatra. He expected to get support of all for the campaign. Villagers made arrangement for breakfast and guava for Yatris. Narmada Aarti was performed in village Bichhola.
Sadhvi Yoga Maya, seers-saints, local representatives and villagers were present during the yatra.
