Farmers not to face fertliser’s shortage in Rabi season

Bhopal: The Chief Minister Kamal Nath reviewed today sowing being done by the farmers in Rabi season and availability of fertiliser in the state. He gave instructions to officers that farmers should not face shortage of fertliser. The Chief Minister held discussions with the Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal and Union Minister of Fertiliser and Chemicals Sadanand Gowda over phone and urged them to allot racks of urea to Madhya Pradesh on priority.
It was informed during the meeting that additional 36 thousand metric tonne urea and 24 thousand metric tonne DAP have been distributed to farmers this year from October to December in comparison to the last year. A total of 7 lakh 18 thousand metric tonne urea has been distributed to the farmers in the state till now. Constant conversation is taking place with the Union Minister of Chemicals to ensure supply of urea according to demand of farmers.
Moreover, it was informed that sowing work by farmers is being done in Rabi season according to the fixed programme. Wheat has already been sown on approximately 46 lakh hectare area in the state till now. Sowing work including other crops has already been done by farmers on 98 lakh hectare area this year. Field staff of the department has been instructed to redress problems of the farmers by contacting them immediately.
The Chief Secretary B.P. Singh, Agriculture Production Commissioner P.C. Meena, Principal Secretary to CM Ashok Varnval, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary Cooperatives K.C.
