Academy’s boxer Ayushi wins silver and Ruchir gets bronze

Bhopal: Ayushi Awasthi of Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Academy won silver medal and the Academy's Ruchir Shrivas won bronze medal in the Junior National Boxing Championship held from December 12 to 18, 2018 in Mohali, Punjab.
In the 48 kilograms category of the championship, Ayushi Awasthi defeated Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand players in the first and second bouts respectively. In the quarter-finals of Delhi and semi-finals of Uttar Pradesh Ayushi Awasthi won a silver medal by defeating the player of Uttar Pradesh in the semi-finals. Similarly, Ruchir Shrivas defeated Uttarakhand player in the first bout in the 46 kg heavy category and defeated Haryana player in the quarter-final to win the bronze medal. Both the players bagged the medals in the championship under the guidance of chief trainer of the academy, Roshanlal. Winners today met Director Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. S.L. Thausen. Dr. Thausen lauded the performance of both the players and congratulated them.-Window To News
