Bhopal: On the instructions of the Chief Minister Kamal Nath, the Additional Chief Secretary cum Agriculture Production Commissioner P.C. Meena reviewed availability of chemical fertilizer and distribution arrangements in the state by holding video conference. Meena has informed that state has started receiving rakes of urea owing to the efforts of the Chief Minister, which has brought improvement in the availability of chemical fertilizer in the state. Twenty four rakes have reached state during the last 4 days and 28 rakes are in transit. Approximately 30 more rakes are expected within next 4 days. Allotment from 1.75 lakh MT has been increased to 2.52 lakh MT in January, 2019 by the Government of India. Urea in sufficient quantity is available in the state, he added.
Necessary instructions regarding proper arrangement of distribution were given during the video conference. The Principal Secretary Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Rajesh Rajora said that District Collectors must hold review twice a week with the officers of Agriculture, Cooperative and Marketing Federation in connection to demand and supply of fertlisers. Ensure distribution of urea in districts through cooperative societies. Moreover, store urea in double lock centers according to demand and ensure storage of minimum 500 metric tonne urea necessarily in double lock centers.
District Officers have been instructed that effective and prompt action should be taken on receiving complain of illegal transport, black marketing of urea and irregularities. Surprise inspection of sale centers and warehouses of private sellers of fertlisers should be conducted regularly. If necessary, cooperation of security officers should be taken in fertliser distribution arrangements.
The Principal Secretary Cooperative K.C. Gupta and Managing Director of Marketing Federation also gave necessary instructions to all the District Collectors including Deputy Director Agriculture and Deputy Commissioner Cooperative at the video conference.-Window To News
