Action to be taken against industries causing river pollution after investigation

Bhopal: Special team of officials of Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board collected samples of polluted water from four industries Raj Pioneers, Jaju Surgicals, Keshav Industries and Sharda Minerals industries of Dewas industrial area. This water is discharged in Nagdhaman river of Dewas city and further in connecting Kshipra river. Board officials said that investigation is on in samples of polluted water. Strong action will be taken against the concerned industries after being found faulty.
Environment Minister Sajjan Singh Verma on Saturday issued directions to conduct surprise check of industrial units of Dewas industrial area. Minister Verma also instructed for special monitoring of industries of Nagda and Dewas, disposal of civic solid waste as per the rules, system for treatment of domestic waste in urban bodies.
The minister asked to make a condition in the tenders to promote use of fly ash being produced by thermal power plants, the works related with Public Works Department. It was informed in the meeting that Sanjay Gandhi Environment Mission will be formed in the state. Community plantation programmes will be organised in catchment area of Narmada and other important rivers. He asked the officials to make action plan for this.-Window To News
