Tail end farmers should also get water for irrigation in State

Water Resources Minister Karada reviews departmental activities
Bhopal: Minister for Water Resources Hukum Singh Karada gave instructions to officers to ensure that tail end farmers of the state should also get sufficient water for irrigation. He was addressing a meeting of departmental officers held at Mantralaya today. Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources R.S. Julaniya, Principal Secretary Water Resources Shiv Shekhar Shukla and Officers of the department were present at the meeting.
Karada said that construction of ongoing irrigation schemes of the state should be completed within the stipulated time. He further stated that no shortage of fund will arise for irrigation schemes. Karada mentioned that serious attention should be paid on complaints received for not getting water for irrigation from the tail end farmers of various places. He also gave instruction to start work on Kali-Sindh Irrigation Scheme.
District wise review to be made
Water Resources Minister Karada said that he will review district wise irrigation capacity besides under construction and approved schemes shortly. It was informed at the meeting that irrigation percentage from all the resources of the state is 66.8 percent. Currently, approximately 40 lakh hectare area is being irrigated through government resources. Election of Jal Santhaon will be condcuted soon in the state. Preparations in this connection has already been started. Karada also gave instructions to accelerate speed in collection of irrigation charge.-Window To News
