Top priority to solve problems of displaced persons

Narmada Valley Development Minister Baghel reviews Departmental works
Bhopal: The Minister for Narmada Valley Development Surendra Singh Baghel during the review meeting gave instructions that problems of displaced persons should be solved on top priority. It should be ensured that displaced persons should not get upset with normal problems. Moreover, monitoring of public construction works at rehabilitation places of the submerge area of Sardar Sarovar Project should be ensured, he added.
Baghel further stated that construction of canals of large projects should be speeded up and it should be ensured that under cosntruction projects should be completed within the stipulated time limit. The Additional Chief Secretary and Vice Chairman of Narmada Valley Development Authority Rajnish Vaish along with members of the Authority, Engineer in Chief and Senior Officers were present at the meeting.
The Additional Chief Secretary Vaish has informed that a target to irrigate 5 lakh 80 thousand hectare actual area has been set for 2018-19 through completed and under construction projects. Over 4 lakh hectare area has been irrigated by December 2018. Micro Irigation Projects are being constructed by lifting water from Indira Sagar of Narmada Valley and large projects of Omkareshwar. These projects will facilitate irrigation on 4 lakh 16 thousand hectare area without impact of submergance.
Minister Baghel gathered information about under construction Bargi Diversion Tunnel and gave diretives for its constant monitoring. He said that detail review about the Narmada Parikrama Path given in the menifesto will be made. Baghel also gave instructions to prepare D.P.R. for scheme of irrigation deprived Dahi and Jobat area of Dhar district at the meeting.-Window To News
