Bhopal: After taking charge at the Mantralaya, Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh took a meeting of the departmental officers. At the meeting he gave instructions to simplify the rules for changing the power transformers. Taking prompt action the department has issued instructions in place of earlier instructions to replace burnt and damaged transformers after payment by 50 percent of the consumers connected with the burnt and damaged distribution transformers or after 10 percent of the total outstanding amount is deposited. Burnt and damaged transformers should be replaced promptly on fulfillment of either of the two above mentioned conditions.
Energy Minister Singh said that electricity supply should be ensured to the domestic consumers for 24 hours and to farmers for irrigation for 10 hours per day. He said that power supply should be cut for maintenance in rural areas after holding Jan-Samvad. Public representatives should also be included in the Jan-Samvad.
Publicize call centre number 1912
The Energy Minister said that the call centre number 1912 made for redressal of consumer grievances should be publicized throughout the state. The number 1912 should be displayed on huge display boards at the distribution center level. He told to take action against contractors for negligence and for not paying attention to the quality of construction works. Energy Minister Singh said that consumers should realize that the power companies are providing various options of consumer services for them. He instructed to mark such bad transformers which have been non-functional for a long time and have not been returned to the store. He told the distribution companies to implement such methods of information technology, which are acceptable to the general public. He said that the information of shutdown should reach the concerned consumers through SMS.
Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh told to authorize district collectors to form power committees at the distribution center level. He instructed to get the names of members nominated by the Department of Energy approved by the Ministers in Charge of the district and get them proposed through the district collectors. Singh said that immediate action on all the points in the manifesto should be ensured.
Additional Chief Secretary Energy ICP Kesari said that a live demo should be given in Rajgarh district before January 30 of online services and call center in a special event. Kesari told to replace the damaged and burnt transformers received in consumer grievance redressal camps immediately. On this occasion, a deadline for the implementation of various points of the manifesto was set. Managing Director of MP Power Management Company Sanjay Kumar Shukla presented comprehensive information on the power sector of the state.
