Cabinet approves hike in medical seats of three medical colleges

Bhopal: In a major decision the Madhya Pradesh cabinet today approved  to increase the medical seats of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, Shyam Shah Medical College of Rewa, and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore 

Cabinet cleared the proposal to increase MBBS seats of Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa from 100 to 150. The proposal to hike MBBS seats of Netaji Subash Chandre Bose, Jabalpur from 150 to 250 was also approved in cabinet meeting. Likewise, government approved the proposal to increase MBBS seats of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College from 150 to 250.
In other words, total 250 medical seats have been increased in three different medical colleges of state.  

Apart from this, cabinet also approved the proposal for building construction of new medical colleges of Chindwada and Shivpuri and sanctioned amount of Rs 177.55 crore and Rs 157. 57 crore respectively. 

In another major decision, cabinet passed the proposal to allot 334.584 hectare land to DRDO in Morena. Selected major district roads would be upgraded at the cost of Rs 3400 crore. Under this project, 57 routes of 1500 km would be developed and this work would be completed in four years time frame.

Cabinet also decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 5000 per month to one more victim of botched up eye operation of Badwani. His name is Shikaria and he is resident of Moyda tehsil. Some other proposals were also passed in the cabinet.

 Jayant Mallaiya told that no discussion was done in cabinet over the damage to crops by unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm. He was of the view that damage had happened only in some parts.  Replying to a question that four dumpers of CM’s relative were seized for illegal mining, he said action had been taken and as per his knowledge, it is the case of overloading.-WTN
