Keep paddy procurement arrangements in order: Food Minister Tomar

14.15 Lakh MT Paddy procured on support price till now
Bhopal: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Pradyuman Singh Tomar instructed that arrangements at the fixed paddy procurement centers should be kept in order. A total of 14.15 Lakh MT paddy has been procured in the state till January 15, he added.
Minister Tomar further stated that arrangements for drinking water, shelter and on time weighing with honesty should be ensured for farmers at 951 centers made in the state. Committees formed under the chairmanship of the district collectors should monitor it constantly. He further informed that paddy procurement process was started on support price at the rate of Rs. 1750 per quintal from November 15, 2018 till January 15, 2019. A total of 14 lakh 15 thousand 301 metric tonne paddy has already been purchased from more than 2 lakh 49 thousand farmers during this period. Control room has been established at state level to control procurement process. The telephone number of the control room is 0755-2551471. This control room is functional for 12 hours from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Date for paddy procurement extended
Date for paddy procurement has been extended by the state government. This arrangement has been made keeping in view the arrival of paddy at procurement centers. The last date was January 15, 2019. Now paddy will be procured from the farmers in Damoh, Betul, Panna, Singrauli, Mandla, Anuppur, Sidhi, Jabalpur, Umariya and Satna till January 19 and in Seoni, Rewa, Balaghat and Katni till January 25.-Window To News
