Madhya Pradesh tops in ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ Yojana

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has been selected for the first position by the Government of India for its excellent performance in implementation of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ Yojana. The Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development, J.N. Kansotiya will receive award at a programme to be held at New Delhi on National Girl Child Day on January 24.
The Director “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ Campaign of the Union Ministry for Women and Child Development, Ashok Kumar Yadav has informed about this vide his letter. This award is being given to five states of the country with Madhya Pradesh on top. He informed that Madhya Pradesh has carried out excellent work in its implementation along with better cooperation, guidance and good work on the ground. He further mentioned that Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh will be awarded for excellent performance under the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign under the Prabhavi Samudayik Vyastata category.
The main aim of the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ scheme is to ensure eradication of discriminatory gender selection process besides safety of girls’ existence and education. A total of 42 districts of the state are included in the scheme.-Window To News
