Yatra will Enter Khandwa District Today
Bhopal : With a resounding “Har Har Narmade-Ghar-Ghar Narmade”, the “Namami Devi Narmade Seva Yatra, on the 11th day, began from Dhanwada in Harda district. In these eleven days, the Seva Yatra reached all the villages on the banks of the River Narmada and spread the message of conserving and contributing in freeing Narmada of pollution. People extending their complete and whole-hearted support during the yatra and gave the yatra the form of a public campaign.
After leaving Dhanwada, the Narmada Devi Narmade-Seva Yatra was accorded a grand welcome in every village. Toran-Dwar (huge gateways) were decorated at many places where the Yatra passed. In rural areas, women attired in traditional dresses with ‘kalash’ on their heads welcomed the Yatra. The sight was very beautiful, peace giving and complete with divine faith. Villagers stood in queues with Narmada flags and kalash to welcome the yatra. The participation of people belonging to all classes gave a message of harmony also.
Rural folk in every village planted saplings during the Yatra. This gave the message that people are becoming aware of the environment. The yatra, in the true sense of spirit is effective and meaningful. Minister in charge of Khandwa district Paras Jain and Santosh Joshi also took part in the Narmada Seva Yatra. The Yatra will enter Dhanoura in Khandwa district after passing through Devpur, Nagawan, Pahanpat, Choukadi, Khirkiya and Chipawad. Here, Minister in Charge of the district Paras Jain will welcome the Yatra and will also take part in a public discussion programme.-WTN
