Rs. 2 crore approved by Medical Education Department

Bhopal: Remaining work of Virology Lab at MGM College of Indore will be completed soon. An amount of Rs. 2 crore has been approved by the Medical Education Department in this connection. Informing about this, the Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education, R.S. Julaniya said that after the completion of the lab, people of Malwa region will get rid of problem to visit Bhopal and Jabalpur to test virus borne diseases.

Julaniya further mentioned that on the instructions from the Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Tulsiram Silawat, necessary amount has been approved to complete the remaining work of the lab.

It may be mentioned that in absence of Virology Lab at Government Hospital, Indore, samples are sent to the lab, situated in Bhopal to diagnose virus borne diseases like Swine Flu, Hepatitis, H-1 N-1 etc., which cause delay in treatment. Higher amount is spent by patients to get the test done from virology labs of private hospitals of Indore, which make it difficult for people belonging to weaker and poor section of the society. Establishment of virology lab at MGM hospital of Indore will prove to be a boon for poor patients of Indore and Malwa region.-Window To News
