Directorate officials must also review working of gram sabhas: Minister Patel

Gram sabhas to be organized under nodal officers’ supervision on January 26 

Bhopal: Gram sabhas will be organized in a phased manner on Jaunary 26 in the state. A nodal officer will be appointed for every gram sabha by the Collector. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Kamleshwar Patel told to ensure that the gram sabhas are organized properly along with a brief discussion on the agenda fixed by the administration. He said that the senior officials posted in the Directorate of Panchayat Raj must conduct surprise inspections and review the working process of the gram sabhas.

All Collectors and chief executive officers of the district panchayats have been directed to hold discussion on other important issues apart from the fixed permanent work-list in the gram sabha. Extensive discussion must be held at the gram sabha on the selection of beneficiaries and works for which approval of income-expenses has been sought, Swa-karadhan Yojana, Social Security, consideration of pending applications of pension, review of ongoing works in gram panchayat, strategy of taking agriculture based works under MNREGA, Sabki Yojana-Sabka Vikas, pond construction and restoration, availability of drinking water, Pradhan Mantri Aawas, reading of names of remaining eligible beneficiaries of SECC-2011, reading of name added in Awas Plus App, formation of self-help-groups, training for skill upgradation, linkage with bank for livelihood, increasing awareness on issues related to harassment of women and health facilities provided by the gram panchayat.

Officers have been directed to hold discussion regarding Mahatma Gandhi’s concept of gram swaraj “Logon ki Sarkar-Log hi Sarkar”. Names of farmers who have filled green and white application forms under Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver Scheme must be read out apart from those farmers who do not fill application forms till January 25. All eligible farmers must be inspired to fill the application forms till coming February 5. Issues including campaign for Khasra and Rubella control and immunization till year 2020, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, ‘Kachre se Kanchan’, management of water-resources, mid-day meals, distribution of iron, de-worming tablets to children should also be discussed.-Window To News
