Farmer-Welfare and Agriculture Development Department urges Centre
Bhopal: In a letter to the Centre, Principal Secretary Farmer-Welfare and Agriculture Development Dr. Rajesh Rajoura has urged that gram, lentil and mustard should be purchased on support price in Madhya Pradesh.
The letter sent to the Centre states that in Rabi Season 2018-19, 52.17 lakh metric tonnes of gram, 11.06 lakh metric tonnes of lentils and 6.41 lakh metric tonnes of mustard production is estimated in Madhya Pradesh. On this basis, the state government has urged the central government to procure total 27.84 lakh metric tonnes of gram, lentil and mustard on support price.
The letter urges to direct FCI, NAFED and SFAC to purchase gram, lentils and mustard at support price from March 11 to June 10, 2019.
In the said period, 28 lakh 86 thousand metric tonnes of gram, 4 lakh 42 thousand metric tonnes of lentil and 2 lakh 56 thousand metric tonnes of mustard are proposed to be purchased at support price in the state.-Window To News
