Bhoomi Poojan for Solar Plant at Khadi Board’s Headquarters
Bhopal: Minister for New and Renewable Energy Harsh Yadav said that priority will be given to non-traditional resources for electricity generation in Madhya Pradesh. Optimum use of buildings’ terraces will be made to generate solar energy. Yadav was addressing the programme after performing the bhoomi poojan for 20 k.w. capacity grid connected solar energy power plant at the Headquarters of Madhya Pradesh Khadi and Gramodyog Board here today.
Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has established its identity in the entire world in the field of electricity generation through solar energy, owing to the biggest Solar Power Plant, Rewa. Electricity being produced by this solar plant will accelerate the speed of development in Madhya Pradesh. He further mentioned that 20 k.w. plant at Khadi Board will be installed at a cost of Rs. 13.70 lakh. A financial assistance of about Rs. 2 lakh 75 thousand from the union government and Rs. 2.20 lakh from the state government will be received for this. The remaining amount of Rs. 8.75 lakh will be borne by the Khadi and Gramodyog Board.
The Managing Director of the Urja Vikas Nigam, Manu Shrivastava informed that this plant will generate 80 units electricity per day. This will help Khadi Board to save 2400 units i.e. Rs. 18 thousand per month. An amount of about Rs. 2.20 lakh annually will be saved by this plant. In this way, the Khadi Board will recover its cost within a period between three and half and four years. The life of the plant is 25 years. During the entire period, electricity worth Rs. 60 lakh will be generated from the plant.
