Show Cause Notice issued to Mayor Chhindwara Sadarang

Bhopal: A show cause notice has been issued by the State Government to the Mayor of Chhindwara, Kanta Yogesh Sadarang in connection to recover economic loss and to remove her from the post of Mayor owing to the accusation of irregularities. This notice has been served to the mayor for not following the powers entrusted to her under the section 25 of the M.P. Municipal Corporation Act 1956 and derelictions of duties. The notice served by the Urban Development and Housing Department mentions that one sided action will be taken in case of non receipt of reply within 15 days after the receipt of the notice.
It may be mentioned that a 3 member team had been constituted to inspect financial management, compliance of new accounts rule, correct use of amount of the Union and State Government and for examining correct implementation of legal procedure of council and mayor council besides provisions of Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act -1956. The notice has been served on the basis of above mentioned irregularities reported by the inspection team in its report. The mayor has been found accountable for not organizing meeting of municipal Council in the prescribed 2 months period and for irregularities found in allotment of verandahs to 12 shopkeepers in front of their shops in Palika Bazaar and to 17 shopkeepers in Itwari Bazaar-Window To News
