Bhajan singer Sanjo Baghel to perform at ‘Narmada Mahotsav’

Bhopal: On the occasion of Narmada Jayanti, ‘Narmada Mahotsav’ would be celebrated at Narmada Parikrama Park in Narela, situated in Ashoka Garden in Bhopal. On this day well-known ‘bhajan’ singer Sanjo Baghel will present bhajans along with Narmada Aarti. State Minister for Cooperatives (Independent charge) Vishwas Sarang went from door-to-door in ward no. 17 in Narela to collect Narmada water.
State Minister Sarang said that the “Namami Devi Narmade”- Seva Yatra has generated awareness among those staying on the banks of the river Narmada, towards Narmada conservation and in the entire state.

He said keeping this in mind, Narmada Mahotsav has been organised on Narmada Jayanti. For this, a campaign to collect Narmada water from door-to-door has begun on February one on the occasion of Basant Panchami. On February 3, the collected water will be brought to Narmada Parikrama Park followed by its ‘Abhishek’ and ‘Poojan’. Bhajan singer Sanjo Baghel will sing bhajans soon after the Narmada Aarti.

People from all 17 wards actively took part in the Narmada Utsav which began on Wednesday. People are collecting Narmada water in hand-carts, auto-rickshaws and loading autos. They were also carrying ’Kalash’ on their heads in which people were pouring with water brought from their houses. Muslim community people also took part in the yatra with zeal and also contributed their share of water from their houses. Sarang said this was an example of communal unity and harmony.-WTN
