1.17 crore eligible families to get pulses on concessional rates through ration shops
Bhopal: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister PradyumanSingh Tomar has said that the state government has finally fulfilled its promise made in the manifesto, of supply of pulses to the poor families residing in urban and rural areas. Tomar gave this information while inaugurating the state-wide Madhya Pradesh Food Security Pulse Distribution Scheme in Gwalior today. He said that 4 kg pulse will be distributed to one crore 17 lakh eligible families under the scheme every month through 24 thousand 170 ration shops.
Minister Tomar said that one kg per person and 4 kg pulses per family will be supplied through government fair price ration shops under the M.P. Food Security Pulses Distribution Scheme. He said that gram dal will be available at Rs 27 per kg and Masoor dal at Rs 24 per kg. The Food Minister told that ration is being made available at concessional rates through public distribution system to 75 percent population of the state. As per the Census of year 2011, 62.61 percent (one crore 25 lakh 59 thousand 357) population of the urban area and 80.10 percent (4 crore 20 lakh 82 thousand 857) population of rural areas have been connected to the scheme. This way total 75.26 percent (5 crore 46 lakh 42 thousand 214) of the state will benefit from this.-Window To News
